If a tree came up to you and told you that it's a peach tree, would you believe it? Yes? Most of us would believe it and there is nothing wrong with that. We are nice like that.
Let's give this story some context.
It was spring when the tree came up to us to tell us it's a peach tree. It was covered in green leaves and pretty flowers. It genuinely looked like a peach tree. Fast forward to autumn, two full seasons later, the tree comes up to you again and says "I'm a peach tree" but you see apples on the tree. Would you believe it this time? No? Why not?
Because a tree is known by its fruits.
A tree is known by its fruits, right? If an orange-bearing tree told you it's a mango tree you'd laugh and probably say liar liar liar pants on fire right? I mean who wouldn't?
Quick question ... okay, maybe not so quick. I have to make sure I phrase this correctly.
Why are you lying to us?
Yes, you! Don't look behind you, I'm talking to you ... and no, it's not a rhetorical question.
Why do you keep lying to us?
If you truly are passionate about the thing you say you are passionate about then where is the fruit of your passion? [insert joke about passion fruit here]
If you really love that thing you told us you love then where is it?
Season after season you keep telling us you are an apple tree and come harvest time all we get is lemons. Someone is lying here and it's not us ... it's you!
Okay, maybe you didn't lie to us. You have your passion fruits and you're to host a market for us ... but ... this is what you are guilty of. Remember that friend of yours who told you he's passionate about that thing but you've never seen him do anything about it? Or that one who told you she's going to be a makeup artist but all she does is watch lifestyle vlogs and complain about being broke? You keep believing them. Not only that, but you also enable their fruitless behaviour. They use your wifi to watch the vlogs and you let them.
Stop it!
Look! Your pants are on fire!
Okay, I'll stop shouting. But I have one request. Stop lying to us. A tree is known by its fruits.
That’s great!! 🥳
I’m finally putting in the work 😂ke pusha passion nou
